Bannie Williams: Q&A

Founder of The Healthy Ingredient, Nutritionist, Nourished Contributor and author of The Smoothie Manifesto, Bannie Williams is our go-to girl when we are looking to up our game nutritionally. Aside from blending, Bannie is a dedicated yogi and has a strong passion for organic and sustainable practices.

Lets get to know Bannie with a quick Q&A!

I usually wake up at: 5.45am-6.00am

I always start my morning with: Hot yoga or a long run

My go-to breakfast is: A big delicious smoothie or organic banana porridge My morning beverage: Green tea

I take these supplements: Probiotics and turmeric

I love a bath or shower: Baths! Always.

My favorite form of exercise: I alternate between running and yoga each day. It is the perfect balance of cardio and strength training.

My favorite daily ritual: I only have one latte a day, but I look forward to it so much and savour every moment.

The beauty product I couldn’t live without: I don’t wear a lot of make-up, but I love the NARS tinted moisturiser, it is light and hydrating.

My most recent health/wellness find: I am addicted to almond butter! I can’t stop adding it to my smoothies and using is as a topping on my acai bowls.

For dinner I usually eat: In Summer, protein and salad and I will alternate between organic chicken and tofu. In Winter I live off home-made vegetable curries and soups.

My guilty pleasure: A dry rosé (or three) and Haloumi

My playlist includes: Kanye West, Rüfüs, Miike Snow and Jamie XX

My favorite way to relax: An afternoon weekend nap and long dinners with delicious wine and great company

My perfect day I would: Ideally we would be in New York with breakfast in bed, followed by yoga and an iced latte. Then spending the afternoon laying in the park with my partner Nick, followed by a delicious dinner, wine and an early night.

I am inspired by: Travel, beautiful recipe books, minimalism and creativity.

I recently discovered: Buddah’s Tears! Aside from being delicious, they look so beautiful at the bottom of the tea cup.

The best advice I have received: To always respond and not react.

I go to bed at: I’m an early riser, so the earlier the better! Usually around 9.30-10pm.

My mantra is: A smoothie a day keeps the doctor away!
